No Macca…. but TONS of lackluster Beatle covers. And when did Kelly Clarkson get so angry?
We actually watched the American Idol finale last night and I officially want my two hours back. I got excited when Blake and Jordan sang “I Saw Her Standing There” at the beginning (not for the quality though) because that gave me hope that Macca might make an appearance. Last years finale was awesome…Prince surprised the hell out of us… This years surprise? A ROUGH sounding Bette Midler singing what is sure to be a future douche chill hit post here on sonicdork, “Wind Beneath My Wings”. She sounded like she gargled with Evan Williams before hitting the stage.
At the end of the show they did a tribute to….SGT. PEPPER?!? Our hopes were up again….but no Macca.. Hell, I would have enjoyed a Ringo appearance.
With Macca releasing his new album on June 5th, AI would have been a great opportunity for him to push for sales…. or….maybe Macca has class and felt that AI wouldn’t help him. You can’t fault him for that.
His first offical video is for “Dance Tonight” and it premiered on YouTube yesterday. It was directed by Michel Gondry and it features Natalie Portman and Mackenzie Crook (from the UK Office). Enjoy.
