I can’t believe I heard this in the Jersey City Rite Aid this morning… and I can’t believe I had never even heard this before! Released in 1993, Charlie Daniels was pushing the patriotic bounds of taste with “America, I Believe In You”…. long before Toby Keith even thought about putting a boot inside anyone’s colon.
I wish Charlie Daniels would write more songs about fighting demons and leave this kind of shlock to Lee Greenwood.
