I don’t give a damn what anyone says. The only record I want to hear today is The Rising….. and Bruce didn’t write or release this album to capitalize on 9/11. I remember those comments floating around when it was released in the Summer of 2002. You’re a douche if you still think that. Look inside you and see that inner douche. Let it out. Release that douche and enjoy this song.
I know that “My City Of Ruins” was initially written about Asbury Park, but it was the perfect song for this time period and it remains one of my favorite Springsteen songs.
