new orleans part one.
sonicdork is currently typing from the French Quarter in New Orleans. Kristen and I drove down here to celebrate her birthday… and it’s amazing. We got upgraded to the Executive Level (another reason to join the Priority Club…no shit) and I’m drinking FREE Abita Beer…..some of the finest in the world. I’ll post more throughout the weekend. So apparently the new Pumpkins are going to be doing multiple nights this summer in San Francisco and……ASHEVILLE, NC?!?!! What the hell? They’ll be playing at The Orange Peel (one of my favorite clubs in one of my favorite towns) on June 23-24, 26-27, 29-30 and July 2-3 and 5. Huh? Two Corgan related posts in one day? Touring bands typically hit up both Atlanta and Athens, or sometimes just Atlanta over Athens…..or there are the cases when a band just wants to rock Athens. In those cases I have to make the trek up 316 to see the rock. I might just do that tomorrow night. Sloan. 40Watt. $12. Can’t beat that. Plus, they’re one of the best live bands I have EVER seen.
